General
information about the size and position of the building
 |
How
big is the holiday cottage, cellar, garage,
annex or…? It is better to overestimate the
size of the system rather than select a model
which is a little too small.
|
|
|
 |
Does
the building have a side, or a roof surface,
which faces the sun (south-facing in Denmark)
but has a limited amount of shade - or no shade
at all - from trees or neighbouring
houses? Remember that the height of the
sun in the sky changes with the seasons.
In Denmark, the sun is at 12 degrees centigrade
in January and casts very long shadows.
|
| |
|
 |
SolarVenti
can be directed at the sun (south in Denmark)
from just about any roof surface – even if the
surface itself does not face the sun.
|
| |
|
 |
Can
air circulate freely through the rooms you want
to dehumidify? The principle is simple: Warm and
dry air is injected into the building through
the inlet duct at one end of the house. There
must be a corresponding exhaust duct
(ventilation hole) at the other end of the room
– or rooms – to be dehumidified.
|
| |
|
 |
If
the SolarVenti is used to dehumidify several
storeys of a building, the exhaust duct must be
on the bottom floor and the inlet duct on the
top floor. In the case of buildings with many
storeys, or large houses, a booster fan (solar
powered) is often used to ensure that air from
the SolarVenti flows correctly through the
house.

Mounting
SolarVenti on a wall:
 |
The
SV3 has the capacity to blow air 2 meters.
Therefore, in the case of the SV3, best results
will be achieved if the air injection pipe is
shorter than 2 m. In the case of the SV7 and the
SV14, the air injection pipe should be shorter
than 3.5 meters and, in the case of the SV30, the
pipe should be shorter than 5 meters.
|
| |
|
 |
All
models can be mounted horizontally on the side of a
building or stand up like a door or a window. It
does not matter whether the air injection blower is
at the top or the bottom.
|
| |
|
 |
The
SolarVenti should face the sun (south in Denmark) if
at all possible – even if it is mounted on a wall.
If the wall on which you wish to mount the solar
panel does not directly face the sun, you could
consider tilting the panel so that it faces the sun.
|
| |
|
 |
Consider
the position of the SolarVenti solar air collector
carefully and mount it so that it harmonizes with
the appearance of the existing doors and windows
etc.

Mounting
SolarVenti on the roof:
Information
about the regulator, on/off switch and thermostat:
 |
All
systems are supplied with a on/off switch
function so that air injection can be switched
off completely.
|
| |
|
 |
In
the case of the SV7 and all larger models, it is
necessary to select either a on/off switch
function or an SV regulator unit. If you select
the regulator you can set the speed of the fan
as required. Low speeds result in a very low
noise level and the temperature of the injected
air will be higher.
|
| |
|
 |
The
SV regulator unit also has a thermostat. The
room thermostat can, e.g., be set to switch off
the injection of warm air if the temperature in
the room in which the thermostat has been
installed exceeds 27 degrees centigrade. The SV
regulator unit can also be used to control an
extra fan which can, for example, be mounted on
the north side of the house. This will
automatically blow cool air into the house when
the SV regulator unit’s thermostat switches
off the injection of warm air from the solar air
collector.
